We ate Red Velvet cake that tasted like our Granny’s.

We ate donuts slathered in frosting and dusted with cinnamon.

We tried on fringed fanny packs.  Those are great for carrying your wallet.  You know, to pay for cake and donuts and stuff.

I’m not really into substitutes.  Such as substitutes for things like hot dogs and cheese.  Did I tell you about the time I made low-carb pizza crust out of pureed cauliflower?  For Valentine’s Day.  Romantic, huh? WRONG. And wrong again.

First off the crust tasted like plastic.  Seriously.  If you’ve chewed on your Barbie doll’s leg before, then you know exactly what I’m talking about.  To top it off, I used fake cheese.  I’m not talking about Kraft Singles.  Those are real cheese in my book.  I heard fake cheese was OK.  So why not?  I can handle OK.  What that person meant to tell me about fake cheese is that it’s horrible, revolting and triggers your gag reflex the nano second before it hits your tongue.

My fantasy of an evening being equally fun and dreamy while making pizza with my love and then laughing whilst talking about how much we adore each other as we indulged this pizza pie knowing it wouldn’t even affect our waist lines was completely destroyed by a substitute.

To conclude, never experiment or try to be healthy on a holiday.  Oh, and our waist lines were affected, in our favor. We lost our appetites and lost a pound from dry heaving.

This blog post caused me to nearly lose coffee out of my nose, from laughing so hard.   I had a similar instance with my sister ironically also in a movie theater restroom.  It must be the popcorn.

These glasses are a street artist’s signature in Austin.  A pair of these on a different wall on my apartment’s property was one of the first pieces of street art I saw when I moved to the ATX.  It was love at first sight.

So it started like this.  My friend asked where to buy tahini an ingredient used in hummus.  I  thought to myself, “Trader Joes”.  Which then drove me to their site to see if they have any in her state.  Turns out they don’t, but what I did see is that one is being built like feet from my home.  SCORE!!!  Scheduled to open in 2013.  I happen to love Trader Joe’s hummus.  Kat Daddy and his mom used to save the last Druid Circle (a Trader Joe’s brand of cookies) for each other.  So needless to say, we’re thrilled for this addition to our neighborhood.

Funny story, I didn’t wash my car this weekend.  And I’m losing my mind, but let’s blame it on the gym’s poor communication.

I showed up to spin 10 minutes early on Saturday. Weird thing is, after warming up for 20 minutes, nobody else showed up.  Turns out all classes were cancelled.  No email, no heads up at the check-in counter no notice in the spin room.  RUDE.

Then I finished up my own condensed version of spin and went home.  I got ready for the day and did some chores (clean out a closet, pay some bills, etc.).  Then got a call from a friend in town wondering why I didn’t show up to lunch.  Well, I thought lunch was on Sunday.  How disappointing to miss lunch with a bestie all because I had Sunday in my mind.  Ugh and sigh.

Later I made blueberry pancakes for lunch.  After finishing my pancakes I realized the whole reason I made pancakes was to use up the fresh blueberries I had in the refrigerator.   I’m such a genius, I used frozen blueberries.

For dinner I made brown rice, peas and smart ground and mixed them up in a bowl.  I dumped what I thought was a little soy sauce on top and gave it another stir.  After taking a bite and spitting it out, I realized I doused my dinner with Worcestershire sauce.

So let’s continue to blame it on the gym and not the fact that a piece of my brain is missing.  OK?  OK.
