Rizzle’s Weekend Review

March 6, 2010 · 1 Comment

UGH!  It has been a nightmare of week with work.  I’ve been SO busy.  Too busy to do anything else.  Next week doesn’t look any better either.

Last night, Katdaddy took me to a very nice dinner at a Steak House.  I ordered the blackened rib eye.  It was like heaven.  Katdaddy is eating my leftovers for breakfast now.  Dinner was amazing and I was actually able to take my mind off the two reports I have yet to finish, the thingy I have to send to legal and the 36 emails lingering in my inbox.  UGH again!

Today I’m going to get a pedicure.  My toes need it and so do I.  I took a stress relieving bath this morning with cardmon and lemongrass aromatherapy to take my worries away.  It worked.  For now.

Later I will go to the gym because I need to loose 9 pounds before my vacation to Hawaii in May.  Then I need to keep those 9 pounds off until my wedding.  The Girl Scouts of America are not helping my progress with their devilish little cookies.

I think I should finish my two reports, send that thingy to legal and clear out my email inbox.  What do you think?

Knotty, Naughty Hair

February 15, 2010 · 1 Comment

I had the pleasure of watching my niece on Friday night. The moment she walked in I noticed 5 alarm knots in her hair. She’s the type of kid that hates to get her hair brushed and her mom’s been under the weather and those two things combined means some ratty hair. Plus her hair is soooo long and super fine. This accounts for another couple of variables for tangled hair.
So we popped in the DVD, Monsters vs Aliens. I told her to hold still, which she did for the most part. After trying to gently maneuver through her hair, I began to think this was impossible. Then I asked Kat Daddy to look up on the internet how to get dread locks out. Because you see this was a dread in the making. The instructions called for conditioner. The moment Sophia saw the conditioner bottle, she called it lotion and wanted to be the one to squeeze it out and apply it to her hair. I negotiated. She squeezed out ¼ of a cup of conditioner in my hand. No worries. We were going to need it all. I gooped up the tangle and let it set for a few minutes. Then with the bribe of some ice cream and a trip upstairs we turned on the shower and rinsed the conditioner out. After some more combing we had tangle free, shiny hair!
You know that feeling after popping a big, nasty pimple? Well that’s how I felt after conquering her knotty hair.

XOXO,
Rizzle

Tonight we made some pizza.  Well not we, I made some pizzas.  I made them even though the crust was already made.  Thanks, Boboli!

Mmmmmmm, let’s call this one Meaty Goodness.  Pepperoni, Salami and Sausage. :D

Okay, hold your hats for this one, folks.  BBQ Chicken Pizza!Smoky gouda mixed with mozzarella cheeses over a layer of BBQ sauce.  Then topped with plenty of grilled chicken, red onions and cilantro.  YUM!!!!!!!!

Now I’m going to make some hot chocolate for dessert.

Someday

January 8, 2010 · 1 Comment

Someday I’m going to move to my dream home and I’m going to have this table for my dining room.  I love the modern lines paired with rugged, weathered wood.

Table can be purchased here.

What would you put in your dream home?

Bacon and the IRS

December 31, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Today I had a late start all because of a very sad, tragic movie I watched last night.  I woke up paralyzed and depressed.  All of my serotonin had been emptied.  Finally, after 3o minutes of moping I sprang out of bed, turned on the radio to an upbeat song and put on my workout clothes in hopes of rejuvenating my depleted serotonin levels at the gym.

A trip to the gym and a stop at Starbucks later, I made Kat Daddy and I waffles, eggs and bacon.  The house still smells like fried bacon ewwww.

I convinced myself to shower and write one last blog in 2009.

Later I’m going to get a manicure and have them massage my neck.  I might need a foot massage too because I just remembered I owe the IRS money from 2008.  YIKES!

Oh yeah, that very sad movie I watched was called Dear Zachary: a letter to a son about his father.

Wishing you all a very safe and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Here’s to a new year

December 30, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I can’t believe 2009 is over!  One thing is apparent, as I get older, time goes by faster.

For 2010 I’m looking forward to many milestones, some which I know will take place (i.e. my wedding) and looking forward to any surprises that may come along the way too.

Guaranteed events in 2010:

  1. Finish my wedding planning
  2. Best friend getting married – wedding date TBD (she’ll beat me to the alter for sure)
  3. Wedding in September
  4. Kat Daddy turning 30 in December

Hopes and wishes for 2010

  1. A new car
  2. Career advancement
  3. A raise

What are your plans for 2010?  Any resolutions?

The Name Says It All

December 10, 2009 · Leave a Comment

The other night I went shopping and spent way too much money.  Nothing really new about that statement.  Anyway, I purchased a small tube of Aveda’s hand lotion called Hand Relief.  It’s seriously amazing.  The cold winter weather makes my hands so chapped and dry.  Hand Relief soaks in quickly and doesn’t leave a sticky or oily residue after applying.  This is my #1 gripe about most hand moisturizers I’ve purchased in the past. I noticed that I don’t have to re-apply every time I wash my hands too.  The formula sinks in and really lasts.  An additional perk is the delicious fresh, citrus aroma.  You’ll want to lick it.  Not really, but you’ll want to take a big whiff.

It’s December and in other news…

December 1, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Oh my gosh! It’s December!!  Time for Christmas decorating, shopping, and baking.

My dear friend noticed that I switched from Blogger to WordPress and it occurred to me that any of my friends who had me in their Google Reader no longer would receive my updates.   If this is you, update my link.  I miss you.

XOXO,

Rizzle

I Bought a Few Shoes

I went crazy at Zappos.com and ordered 6 potential wedding shoes. The shoes shipped overnight, but took UPS 6 days to get them to me. If this story has another 6 then the there will be three 6’s. 666. The devil. The man who created weddings. I’m sure of it.
