Does Dead Technology Go To Heaven?

24 Jan

I have to tell you about my dying laptop. It’s grey and very old. In its youth it was a real champ. Then about a year ago it started to disambiguate. First its performance became a little weary. Freezing up and having to restart became a daily event. Then the plastic pieces on the exterior came off like a child loosing its baby teeth. Except no “adult teeth” grew back. The clasp to open the laptop became loose and eventually no longer held closed. It would flap around like a walrus clapping its fins, “ARF, ARF”. The poor hinges are the worst and the reason a new laptop is on order. Opening and closing for the past few years has made a popping noise. The screen sort of lost its will to hold itself up. At that point I diagnosed it with a broken neck. Then a screw fell out and a metal piece in tow. The screen completely detached itself from the bottom part of the laptop. I’m really sad to see such a trust machine go, but alas it’s time. How many more days until my new laptop arrives? Have you ever encountered a faulty computer or laptop?

Tonight we made some pizza.  Well not we, I made some pizzas.  I made them even though the crust was already made.  Thanks, Boboli!

Mmmmmmm, let’s call this one Meaty Goodness.  Pepperoni, Salami and Sausage. :D

Okay, hold your hats for this one, folks.  BBQ Chicken Pizza!Smoky gouda mixed with mozzarella cheeses over a layer of BBQ sauce.  Then topped with plenty of grilled chicken, red onions and cilantro.  YUM!!!!!!!!

Now I’m going to make some hot chocolate for dessert.

Movies

8 Jan

With so much extra time on my hands over the holidays, I’ve managed to watch so many movies in the last month.

Julie and Julia – still working on this one, but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!

Avatar – I went into  this movie not knowing what to expect.  I packed my earplugs because I was sure I was going to fall asleep from boredom.  Boy was I wrong.  This move is A M A Z I N G!

Dear Zachary: A letter to a son from his father – OMG!  This is such a sad movie.  Be prepared to be emotionally exhausted when the movie is over.  Ugh…

District 9 – Eehhh, no thanks.

Then She Found Me -  Me thinks not.  Way boring don’t waste your time.

Slumdog Millionaire – A fantastic, yet tragic story.  I can”t believe it took me so long to see this one.

Seen any good movies lately?

Someday

8 Jan

Someday I’m going to move to my dream home and I’m going to have this table for my dining room.  I love the modern lines paired with rugged, weathered wood.

Table can be purchased here.

What would you put in your dream home?

New Year’s Resolution

4 Jan

Yesterday I saw a blimp.  It reminded me of my butt.  Then after looking at what the blimp was advertising (dental insurance) I thought about my teeth.  Which brought me to the conclusion that my new year’s resolution is to have no dental fillings or crowns this year.  I will floss, I will brush, I will have no cavities in 2010.

Do you have a butt the size of a blimp too?  What are your new year’s resolutions?

xoxo,

Rizzle
